Regional Training Director

Welcome from the Regional Training Director – Willi Ortner Jr.

Welcome to our page that will hopefully become a go-to for you as a location to find relevant information for those participating in trials, hosting trials, or supporting trials. My name is Willi Ortner Jr, and I have been involved with the German Shepherd and Schutzhund since I was born, and actively participating in the sport and breed for 25 years. Please feel free to use me as a resource for information and or direction in finding information for training, learning how to become a trial helper or tracklayer, and any other capacity surrounding Schutzhund.

What’s new

Schutzhund Trial Helperwork

Phase C, the protection routine, the most electrifying, fulfilling, and exciting part of the sport for most. Where top performances showcase the true power and abilities of our working dogs. Where our dogs are not only judged on the quality of training, but their quality of temperament and ability.

The Schutzhund Helper is a key role within the sport as much falls on this one person’s shoulders in a trial: Correct and consistent execution of motions in the exercise so that each dog has a fair and equal chance: as well as, so that the judge may be able to correctly evaluate each dog. Safety: for the dog, for the helper, field personnel, and the handler. An ambassador: continually providing sportsmanship, support, and a high representation of responsibility to what it means to be involved in this sport.
